(May 14, 2007) Online sales of apparel, accessories and footwear reached $18.3 billion last year and should hit $22.1 billion this year, according to the Shop.org survey conducted by Internet research firm Forrester Research. Meanwhile, computer hardware and software, long the leader for nontravel online sales, moved into second place last year, at $17.2 billion. That was followed by sales of autos and auto parts, whose sales reached $16.7 billion, and home furnishings, which posted sales of $10 billion. Computer peripherals, which reached $1.5 billion in sales last year, were not included in the hardware and software category.

By introducing JavaFX Script this week at the JavaOne conference here, Sun is trying to reinvigorate that original idea.

Microsoft claim that Silverlight will allow support for a wide range of interactive video formats, from full- screen HD all the way to mobile phone and PDA devices.

(May 08, 2007) A security researcher known as Marsu has discovered a security issue in two graphics file formats, Bitmap and PNG. The flaw, announced via security website Secunia, shows that the image editing application Adobe Photoshop CS2, and possibly the new version of Photoshop, CS3, contain a security vulnerability that could potentially compromise users` computers.
