The conceptualization of a website can be done in various ways but overall, no complicated or advanced scripts may be needed since what you really have to focus on initially is user-friendliness and fast navigation.

But then again, technology can really get to you and this involves using other scripts and programs like flash and widgets. With all of these at your fingertips, which do you use first?

Here are 10 ways to improve your website:

1. Double Check Links. Sites normally have other pages that they want people to navigate to and it would be best to consistently check if they are working. The last thing you would want to see are broken links which could result from misspelled URLs or maybe pointing at the wrong page.
2. Use a reliable Search Box. Users will not go through all the pages to find something in particular. Make it easier for them by having a search box which can point them towards the page and information that they are looking for.
3. Employ Good Grammar and Spacing. People are at your site to read and get information. But they cannot do this if first off, your site content does not make sense.
4. Image Placement. Make sure that your images are aligned in a way that they do not wreck the overall presentation of your site. Whether it is left, centered or right, create it in a way that it complements the site content.
5. Text Sizes and Colors. Titles and important words or phrases need to be emphasized. Make them standout so that a visitor will know their importance on any page. Link them if necessary to the page that best describes and explains them in detail.
6. Choose Your Words Wisely. It is not always best to use deep meaning words. Keep it simple or play between the borders of sounding professional. You are not impressing readers by using hard to understand words.
7. Use Social Bookmarking. If you want to solicit visitors and readers, it is best to announce to the world that this site exists. There are a lot of good bookmarking sites like StumbleUpon, Digg or Delicious. Just sign up. They are free.
8. Don’t Overdo the Ads Placement. Any website wants to earn from being existent. There is nothing wrong with that. However, set a limit. A site that is full of ads leaves bad taste for customers as it overshadows the real essence of the site.
9. Learn When to Cut Paragraphs. Web content writers would normally compose a lot of inputs when creating content. While more is better, make it easier to the eye so that people will read it. Don’t bunch them up in one long paragraph as readers will not bother to check it out.
10. Create Back links. The key towards optimizing your site is soliciting links from various sites. You can resort to link exchanges or even article submissions that provide one way links. You can generate better traffic if a lot of links point to your site.

In improving your site, it is all about presentation and marketing. You can use a number of marketing tools and tactics to do it. Follow these simple tips and you are sure to get a good site up with decent traffic in no time.
